About the wine
The loamy, slate soils in Burgundy form the breeding ground for this Chardonnay. The winemaker from the French winery Domaine Jacques Prieur knows how to use them and delights us with this white wine. If we can offer something special for Christmas 2019, it is this dominant Chardonnay 2017 Puligny-Monrachet 1er cru ac Les Combettes. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Chardonnay is ideal to serve with goat cheese or fish with herbs.
Domaine Jacques PrieurWhite wine | 75cl13.510°-12°CThe fruity Chardonnay gives this wine its own and refreshing character. Passion fruit and lemon form their own dominant flavor nuances.
Tasting note
Shiny golden yellow with greenish reflections. Very fine and delicate on the nose, notes of vanilla and flint. It has a very mineral effect on the nose, underscored by wonderful roasted notes. Extremely compact on the palate, with aromas of citrus, raisins and currants, as well as fine wood notes of impressive complexity. A very refined, elegant wine with an almost endless finish.
Culinary recommendation
The finest accompaniment to lobster, crawfish, turbot and grilled monkfish, but also to oysters, mussels and sushi.
Vinification
The Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted. Alcoholic fermentation and biological acid degradation in wooden barrels on fine yeast. The wine is then aged in Piècen for 16 months.
