About the wine
With this outstanding Sangiovese 2012 — Brunello Poggio al Vento DOCG, the term taste takes on a new meaning. The winemaker from the Italian winery Col d'Orcia has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the blooming and fertile Tuscan countryside. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you offer this Sangiovese with pizza or lamb.
Tasting note
The Poggio al Vento Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is one of Brunello's absolute icons and is hard to beat in terms of finesse, complexity and opulence. Varietal aromas of ripe red fruit and tobacco dominate the bouquet and harmonize wonderfully with the noble wood note. An elegant body, polished tannins and a fresh structure make the Poggio a true event on the palate too. All characteristics are combined in the delicate and long-lasting finish.

Vinification
Strict grape selection, maceration for 20 to 25 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C in large stainless steel tanks. Subsequent ageing for 48 months in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels, followed by 24 months of bottle ageing.
