About the wine

French organic winemaker Olivier Ramé took over his parents-in-law's winery after a career change. His wines are somewhat influenced by his rebellious nature, but will also convince traditionalists. The name “L'Idiot” for his Merlot is a small swipe at wine snobs who don't trust Merlot to do what it actually can do. L'Idiot is the Merlot you want it to be: typical cherry aromas, very juicy and balanced, with moderate acidity. Very complex and lively thanks to spontaneous fermentation in a concrete tank.
