About the wine
With this outstanding Nebbiolo 2014 — Roero Srü DOCG, the term taste takes on a new meaning. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Monchiero Carbone masters this red wine in the picturesque and sunny countryside of Piedmont. Tasting note
Francesco Monchiero not only produces one of the most beautiful types of arneis in the Roero area: He has also repeatedly confirmed his use of the Nebbiolo grape, which is also native here, a few kilometers southeast of the Barolo. Here, the wine bears the name of the area: Roero DOC and is barely known outside its home country, as it stands in the shadow of its big neighbors - Barolo and Barbaresco. His character seems a bit lighter, more delicate, but even a Roero, as in the case of Francesco Monchiero's Srue, can be quite dense and of good structure. The sauce is also characterized by very spicy-berry aromas with velvety soft tannin on the palate.

Goes well with cereal dishes, veal ragout/roasts.

Angaben über Vinifizierung: Francesco Monchiero erzeugt nicht nur einen der schönsten Arneis im Roero-Gebiet: Er hat sich auch mehrfach bestätigt im Umgang mit der hier ebenso heimischen Nebbiolo-Traube, die ein paar Kilometer südöstlich den Barolo ergibt. Hier trägt der Wein den Namen des Gebietes: Roero DOC und ist ausserhalb seiner Heimat noch kaum bekannt, steht er doch im Schatten seiner grossen Nachbarn - Barolo und Barbaresco.
