About the wine
The winemaker from the French winery Domaine Georges Vernay grows this wine in the countryside of the Côtes du Rhône. With the dominant Shiraz 2015 — St. Joseph Terre d'Encre, you can offer your family and friends something very special. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Shiraz with barbecue or roasted vegetables.
Tasting note
Dark ruby red robe with purple-black reflections, strong aromas of dark fruits, blackcurrant, cherry paired with a little pepper and lots of spice. On the palate, lots of fruit, almost ink-like density, pleasant minerals, lots of spice and well-integrated velvety tannins. A wonderfully powerful and charming St. Joseph.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with hearty meat dishes, lamb, beef, veal stew, game and dark poultry.
Vinification
The grapes from 30-year-old vines are harvested by hand. After strict selection, they are fermented in steel and aged in barriques for 12 months.
