About the wine
As a lucky charm, the guardian angel is in the form of a statue in every wine cellar. He has accompanied Aurelio Montes since its founding and protects the excellent wines. Not only because of this, but also thanks to his great sense for new terroirs and top wines, Aurelio Montes has made it onto the international wine list. He discovered Chile's potential and set himself the goal of top-quality wines. He now cultivates 800 hectares of vineyards in Apalta, Marchigüe and cooler Zapallar. The winery is family-owned, led by Aurelio Montes, of course, who is already supported by the second generation, by his son Aurelio Montes junior.
Tasting note
The Montes Taita is the latest, first-class achievement. The first “SuperIcon Wine” — made with passion, oenological precision and above all wisdom. Aurelio Montes combines all his knowledge from 25 years of winemaking in it. Montes Taita is a concentrated and complex wine with limited production. Intense ruby red in color, rich in blueberry, blackberry, mocha and truffle aromas. On the palate, it unfolds notes of cedar and dark chocolate, extremely elegant and powerful at the same time, with soft, noble tannins. Harmonious in structure with a pleasantly long and complex finish. The Montes Taita has the potential to mature for a long time and can be stored for over 15 years.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with grilled or fried veal.
