About the wine
Easter 2019 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this strong white wine 2018 — Twanner Pinot Gris! To get a feel for the hilly landscape beauty in Bern, there is no way around this white wine, which Swiss Weingut Andreas Krebs masters with a keen sense of texture. The Flaschenpost team promise a culinary experience if you offer this Pinot Gris with mussels or sea bass.
Tasting note
This Pinot Gris has a rich yellow color with hints of bronze. On the nose, intense aromas of quince, pear and yellow stone fruits paired with a spicy note. On the palate, it is fruity, full-bodied and round with an animating acid structure and a long-lasting and refreshing finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with fish and crustaceans, antipasti, light meat dishes and aged cheeses.
Vinification
The grapes for this Pinot Gris come from around 25-25-year-old vines, which grow on the calcareous and steep vineyards of Twann. They are read by hand. The Pinot Gris is fermented in stainless steel tanks after a maceration period. There is no biological acid degradation. The expansion is also taking place in a steel tank.
