About the wine
This powerful and rich Ribera del Duero DO is the first creation by soccer superstar Ivan Rakitic together with the Cria Cuervos winery. The Unión concept is an allusion to the great importance of family for Rakitic. Because what better way to toast your love than with a good wine! For this reason, the label adorns a family with parents, two children and a dog.
Tasting note
The intense cherry red color is a surprise to the eye, which testifies to the great quality of the 2019 vintage. His body is full-bodied and his tear is thick, which indicates the suggestive note that we will enjoy on the palate. On the nose, we find ripe wild fruits combined with balsamic and spicy notes as well as hints of cocoa and licorice. On the palate, it is meaty, structured and friendly at the same time. A touch of roasted aromas from the barrels is in perfect balance with wild acidity, which skilfully refreshes the whole thing and gives it additional elegance. After each sip, it lingers for several minutes and is complex.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meats such as T-bone steak, lamb venison and cheese.
Vinification
100% Tempranillo grapes harvested by hand. Temperature-controlled fermentation in wood, stainless steel and concrete tanks. Aging for 15 months in American and French oak barrels and for one year in bottle.
