Tasting note
The estate's top wine is the essence of old vines, barren slate soils and meticulous, artisanal winemaking. Deep dark, impenetrable color with a slight purple glow. Initially closed in a glass, then after some ventilation, complex fragrance with notes of black berries, blossoms, wet stones, black tea, toast. Rich and concentrated with lots of juicy fruit extract, creamy fullness contrasted with powerful tannins and fresh acidity. Endless aftertaste with a juicy, dense fruit trail. Fill the palate with fruit, tannin and color. Still young and impetuous, with great potential for up to 15 years when stored in a cool place (max. 15°C).
Vinification
The best lots of the Quinta, some of which are very old vines. hand harvest. The grapes are selected by hand after harvesting. Fermentation in oak fermentation tanks and small steel tanks, partly with spontaneous yeast. Long maceration of up to 6 weeks. Ageing for 26 months in mainly new French barriques (80%). Without fining and without filtration.
