Dense purple, concentrated aromas of ripe fruit with pronounced blackberry and raspberry aromas, cherries and plums. The taste is balanced, with a lot of elegance and finesse, long-lasting and fruity finish.
The grapes grow in the Rio Torto Valley and are traditionally tamped with their feet in the so-called “lagares”. Fermentation takes place at 28° C. for 3 days; this allows perfect extraction of tannins and color. The port then matures for 4 years in large, old wooden barrels.
