About the wine
The farm, which dates back to the 14th century, is located in the area of origin of the classic St. Magdalener. The traditional company that has always grown vines and processed them into wine - Schiava on the hill and Lagrein in the Eisack plain - has been owned by the same family for 180 years. In the last century alone, three generations managed vines and houses. In 1983, the farm was taken over by Franz Gojer and the wines were marketed himself. The cru site Karneid is a western slope at an altitude of 600 m, where the Kerner is grown. Kerner is a cross between Riesling and Trollinger (which in turn descends from the red grape variety Vernatsch).
