Information about vinification: The Cornas is the southernmost red wine region in the northern Rhône. The climatic conditions are therefore very dry and warm — ideal conditions for the Syrah grape. The grapes for this cornas come from the southeast-facing, very steep plots “La Côte” and “Sauman”, which have a granite-containing sandy soil. All grapes are harvested by hand. About half of the grapes are destemmed, the rest is fermented as whole grapes. After a mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation and 18 months of aging take place in French 500-liter oak barrels with a virgin wood content of approx. 30%.
