About the wine
Imagine this: A paradisiacal spot between sea and mountains, at the foot of the foothills of the Pyrenees, surrounded by garrigue and Mediterranean bush forest... Tautavel, an enchanting little village in the Pyrénées-Orientales district in the middle of LanguedocRoussillon, has some hidden treasures in store for you. The municipality became famous for the discovery of a 450,000-year-old skull of a prehistoric man — the so-called “man of Tautavel” — and today attracts numerous visitors every year. The wine-growing region covers more than 90 hectares. This vastness of the area has the advantage that there are different climatic conditions, but also different terroirs with a wide range of soils. The Canal du Verdouble, which runs through the municipality of Tautavel, forms a geological barrier here.
