About the wine

Vito Cantania, a successful Milanese businessman with Sicilian roots, inherited the vineyards in the mid-1990s and immediately began to build on the old wine-growing tradition again. The entire company was renovated and expanded from head to toe. The vineyards were reforested and from then on organically farmed, new working methods were implemented and very privileged vineyards were purchased in the Val di Noto. In no time at all, Gulfi with its fine, racy Nero DaVola, reflecting the terroir, became one of Sicily's leading producers and was voted Winery of the Year in 2012.
