24 Carati 2020 - Tenuta Antonini

About the wine

Tenuta Antonini is the result of a long dream that lasted 100 years and has come true thanks to four generations of men who have always firmly believed in the value of the land and its products and in the beauty of the area. The soils of the Teramo hills have been perfect for growing wine since ancient times. The vineyards enjoy the best growing conditions as they are surrounded by the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Gran Sasso to the west. The wide temperature range between day and night and the good ventilation provide the best conditions for healthy grapes and the concentration of aromatic spaces in the grapes. These characteristics and the intensity of the aromas can be tasted in the wines produced by Antonini.

Tenuta AntoniniRed wine | 75cl16°-18°CMontepulciano, Merlot
Now until 2028
Tasting note
Intense ruby red color, full and elegant, full and complex bouquet, fruity, with hints of plums, cherries and notes of tobacco, vanilla, slightly spicy. A full-bodied wine, soft and rich in fine tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, game and hearty first courses. Also excellent as a meditation wine
Vinification
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and then selected on a sorting table. Very gentle pressing and desiccation of the grapes and subsequent fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of around 24° — 26°C (without the addition of external yeasts). Frequent pumping of the must and délestag. Some of the wine is stored for 12 months in tonneau made from fine American wood and then bottled in glass for a further short aging period before it is sold.
