D.O. Rueda
D.O. Rueda remains the second largest designation of origin for white wines (still wines) in Spain. It lies 700 to 800 meters above sea level in the Duero river basin and forms a plateau with gentle elevations and slopes exposed to the Atlantic wind. The D.O. Rueda is one of the few wine-growing regions in Europe that specializes in the production of white wine and the protection and development of its indigenous grape variety, in this case Verdejo. However, red wines are also produced from the main variety, Tempranillo.
