About the wine
If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it will be this outstanding red wine 2018 — Barbera d'Asti DOCG Bassina. The winemaker from the Italian winery Marenco has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and flourishing landscape of Piedmont. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Barbera is excellent with antipasti or strong, dark meat.
Tasting note
Ruby red with purple nuances. Intense and persistent aromas of red fruits and balsamic notes. On the palate, full, dry, harmonious, intense with a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
An ideal accompaniment to starters, pasta, risotti, pizza, meat dishes and mature cheeses.
Vinification
Manual harvest of the fully ripe grapes. Vinification in chrome steel tanks. Ageing in cement tanks and then in oak barrels for at least 9 months.
