About the wine

The fertile and blooming landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Elio Grasso conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Treat your family and friends at Easter dinner with this snappy Nebbiolo 2015 — Barolo DOCG Gavarini Chiniera. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Nebbiolo is very good to serve with truffle risotto or pizza.

Tasting note
The vines in this area with slightly sandy limestone soils are around 35 years old. The wines mature in 2500 liter Slavonian oak barrels. Spectacular nose with aromas of wild berries, cherry compote and blooming herbs, supported by spicy aromas of licorice and smoke. Round on the palate, elegant, with good pressure and silky tannin structure.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty (Piedmontese) cuisine, such as homemade pasta with ragout or mushrooms, risotto, braised oxtail with polenta and, of course, truffles and game dishes.
