About the wine
Do you already know the biting red wine Don Camillo Sangiovese Cabernet Terre di Chieti IGP from the 2016 vintage? If not, it's time! Blooming and fertile landscapes of Abruzzo give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Farnese Vini Ortona conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Sangiovese is ideal to serve with pizza or lamb.
Tasting note
Color: Dense ruby red with intense purple reflectures. Aromatics: Ripe in the bouquet, notes of blackberries, cherries, wild berries, warm roasted notes of coffee, fine bitter almond aroma. Body: Well-structured and strong on the palate with a present aroma, balanced acid/tannin balance with a sweet note in the finale. Quality: Youthful wine with potential, lively and fresh drinking pleasure, still closed.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with southern Italian specialities such as orecchiette with tomato sauce, ripe hard cheese, grilled leg of lamb with rosemary and thyme.
