About the wine

The Cortese vine has been known in Piedmont since the 18th century. Today, it grows primarily in the southwest corner, where its grapes ripen early in a warm climate. Gavi is the most famous Cortese wine. In 1887, the knight Francesco Borgogno laid the foundation stone for the Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno wine house in the heart of Barolo with his few vines on the famous Cannubi hill. Borgogno is still a family business that maintains tradition and presses wines.
