About the wine
Do you already know the dominant Pinot Noir Gevrey-Chambertin AC vintage 2013? If not, it's time! The calcareous, loamy soils in Burgundy offer the winemaker from the French winery Domaine Louis Latour everything he needs to live out his craft and produce a wine for discerning connoisseurs. Flaschenpöstler tip: Pair this Pinot Noir with salmon or cheese.
Tasting note
The Gevrey Chambertin shows an intense ruby red color in the glass. The nose blends scents of licorice, coffee and black currants. On the palate, blackcurrant and licorice combine wonderfully and are accompanied by a slightly peppery finish, which is supported by present but silky tannins. The wine has a nice persistence. A great classic from the Côte de Nuits.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with poultry, game, soft cheese
Vinification
Traditional vinification in open barrels. Malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for ten to twelve months in large oak barrels (20% new).
