About the wine

The beautiful vineyards of Aia Vecchia are located on the Tuscan coast, in Bolgheri and Maremma. The family business was founded 20 years ago, Lagone was the first wine to be launched — and the wine critics immediately applauded.

The aroma palette is rich: spicy notes (pepper, liquorice, cinnamon, truffles), red berries (cherry, strawberry), cassis, blackberry, a touch of vegetables, hot peppers, forest soil and aging aromas (caramel, vanilla, coffee). There are noticeable tannins under the clothy robe, which, together with the fruity acidity, are responsible for a distinctive structure. The astonishing versatility is the result of a skilful blend of different grape varieties. The finale is of impressive length and intensity.
Goes well with hot appetizers, pasta, pasta, cheese platters, grilled lamb, beef grills.
Aged in barriques for six months, then stored in the bottle for six months
