About the wine
The dominant red wine 2016 — Malanser Pinot Noir Spatlese Barrique AOC Graubunden is the missing puzzle piece on your wine rack. To get a feel for the hilly and mountainous landscape aesthetics of the Bündner Herrschaft, there is no way around this red wine, which the Swiss winery Weinbau von Salis masters with a keen sense of texture. The Flaschenpöstler promise a dining experience when you serve this Pinot Noir with cheese or duck.

Tasting note
Salis Malanser Pinot Noir Spätlese barrique is presented in the glass with a bright ruby red color, which already indicates its youthful vitality. On the nose, it develops a tempting bouquet of ripe cherries, red berries and delicate floral notes, accompanied by a touch of spices and fine oak wood notes. On the palate, this Pinot is silky and elegant with a good balance of fruit, acidity and tannins. The aromas of juicy cherries and red berries continue and are complemented by nuances of dark chocolate, light smoke and subtle spices. The finely integrated tannins give the wine structure and support its long, persistent finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pork in a wide variety of ways — from short roasts to roasts and sweet and sour dishes. Wonderful accompaniment to all kinds of stews — whether it's lamb gigot, beef shoulder, roast pork or ossobuco.
Vinification
Elaborate manual harvesting at the latest possible time of harvest, 3-5 days cold storage time of the mash, open maceration in wooden vats, hand-pestling the fermenting mash 1-2 times a day, gently pressing, aging in French barriques (approx. 30% new wood) for 12 months.
