Meshach Shiraz Icon Wine 2016 - Grant Burge Wines

Long shelf life (min. 9 years)
Tasting note
Rich aromas of dark berry fruits, cassis and plums rise to the nose and merge into a complex composition in the bouquet of the Australian with concentrated accents of licorice, vanilla and tart chocolate. A powerful body shines on the palate, surrounded by clearly present tannins. Full-bodied, delicate and wonderfully aromatic, this Shiraz prepares a brilliant finish of exquisite length and therefore goes perfectly with rich stews as well as roast lamb and beef.
Vinification
Grant Burge was born into a family of winemakers in 1951, and it soon became apparent that he had an exceptional talent for wine production. He studied with the best in South Australia before founding his own winery at the age of 26. In just ten years, his name became one of Australia's most coveted and renowned. Countless awards, including Australia's highest award, the Jimmy Watson Trophy, testify to his success. The grapes for this fine wine are harvested by hand and come from the Filsell vineyard, where vines around 100 years old thrive. The excellent grape gives the drop fruity and substantial texture. The expansion of the Meshach takes a total of around 22 months and takes place in French and American oak barriques.
