About the wine

Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza have been traveling through Spain for over 30 years, out of love for the land, for wine, always in search of the best historical sites. In 1994, they purchased the first plot of land, which was initially followed by new ones almost every year. 355 individual sites to date, 80 ha, often organically, always meticulously cultivated. Wines are only available in abundance when the vineyards have regained their former size. In 1997, the steep slopes in Málaga were purchased, from where the best and most sought-after wines used to come, on par with Sauternes and Riesling and on the tables in the royal houses. Like everything the two remember and implement is a huge success. What have they not already given us. Wines for every day like Basa, wines with charm and size like Matallana, and last but not least these mountain wines, in sweet and dry, simply an exotic mineral event!

Tasting note
Amour fou. Surrender - keep your distance? An enchanting, elegant rush of flowers and exotic, sugar-sweet, bright fruits, but there are also increasingly clear limits, such as the tart herbal notes, the present minerality that balances everything out. On the palate, the sweet so seductive pressure, nestles tight, flows viscously on the palate until it stops with the mineral, harsh gestures, curbs passion, the cuddly sweetness still daring play, seductive and decelerating, a wonderful, close dance of sweetness, tart notes and mineral freshness.
Vinification
Selective harvesting by hand in the vineyard and after drying the berries in the sun. Very long fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts at cool temperatures, pressing with an olive press, vinification and aging in small oak barrels.
