About the wine
The Saartjie range of varietal wines is grown on the estate and made from small individual vines. The utmost care and careful selection takes place to ensure that only the best wines are produced as a result. The name Saartjie was introduced after our winemaker's Jack Russell puppy, Saartjie.
Tasting note
The 2019 Saartjie Petit Verdot shows a beautiful deep hue that is characteristic of its grape variety. On the nose, we find hints of violets, dark berries and licorice. With cassis and dark chocolate on the palate. With an impressive tannin structure and a lingering finish, this is a full-bodied wine that will benefit from further ageing.
