About the wine
The winemaker from the Spanish winery Bodegas Protos S.L. is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the picturesque and graceful landscape of the Duero Valley (Castilla y Leon). This fresh Tempranillo 2012 — Protos Reserva Ribera del Duero DO is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Tempranillo is ideal for a barbecue or pizza.
Tasting note
A dark cherry red with garnet red accents on the edge. Powerful and pleasing bouquet with notes of black fruit, licorice and vanilla paired with a touch of roasted and spicy aromas. Wonderfully balanced on the palate with a pleasant acidity and a very nice tannin structure. Persistent and harmonious aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with smoked fish, red meat and truffle dishes.
Vinification
18 months in American and French oak barrels.
