About the wine
The winemaker from the French WINERY Antoine Sanzay has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the picturesque and fertile Loire countryside. With the dominant Cabernet Franc 2016 — Saumur Champigny AC La Haye Dampierre, you can offer your family and friends something very special. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Cabernet Franc with curry or goat cheese.
Tasting note
From a location of about 1.1 ha, with over 40 year old vines. Aged for approx. 9 months in concrete eggs and used barriques. The nose shows aromas of ripe cherries, dark berries and a hint of cassis, with spicy notes of leather, violet and some nougat. Juicy on the palate, sweetness with a fine extract, present yet velvety tannin structure and good freshness on the long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Great with French country cuisine, pies, rillettes, poultry and fine game dishes. It is recommended to decant this wine 1-2 hours before consumption.
