About the wine
Susumaniello or Somarello Nero is a red grape variety common in the Puglia region, which probably originates from Dalmatia and produces colorful, acidic red wines. It is mainly grown in the province of Brindisi. Within this province, it occupies approx. 5 percent of the vineyard area. Tasting note
Beautiful ruby red. Complex aroma of fruits and spices (plums, cherries, blackberries, wood, vanilla). Dry, warm, soft on the palate, with a great body structure. Balanced and intense finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pot roast, polenta with porcini mushrooms or a rabbit stew. Also ideal with sausages and hard cheeses.
