About the wine
With the powerful Pinot Gris 2021 — St. Michael Fallwind Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC, nuances and accents are redefined. The winemaker from the Italian winery Kellerei St-Michael is absolutely proficient in his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the blooming and fertile landscape in South Tyrol. Flaschenpöstler tip: Pair this Pinot Gris with ceviche or sea bass.
Tasting note
On the nose, this Pinot Grigio is finely creamy with ripe pear, melon and delicate almond notes. On the palate, the creaminess of the subtle use of wood persists, and the fine acidity provides additional tension and freshness. The body is powerful and elegant without any opulence!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: St. Michael Fallwind Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC passt hervorragend zu Muscheln, Ceviche und frischem Gemüse.
Vinification
Manual harvesting and grape selection from early to mid-September. The majority (80%) is fermented in steel tanks, the rest (20%) in large wooden barrels followed by biological acid degradation. In March, the two wines are combined.
