About the wine

Vito Cantania, a successful Milanese businessman with Sicilian roots, inherited the vineyards in the mid-1990s and immediately began to return to the old winemaking tradition. The entire company was renovated and expanded from head to toe. The vineyards were reforested and from then on managed organically, new working methods were implemented and very privileged vineyards were purchased in Val di Noto. In a very short time, Gulfi, with its fine, racy Nero DaVola, which reflects the terroir, has become one of Sicily's leading producers and was voted Winery of the Year in 2012.
