Both in bouquet and taste, the aromas are wide-ranging and range from amarena cherry and blood orange to clove, cinnamon and coconut to caramel and chocolate. In the massive body, the noticeable but fine-grained tannins and a juicy, supportive acidity form a strong backbone. A massive wine with a long finish.
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 3-20 years after harvest.
Information on vinification: The hand-picked grapes come from carefully selected small plots from the Toro and Ribera del Duero zones. The grapes are gently pressed with an aluminum basket press and then subjected to a maceration period of 15 days. During fermentation, the must is pumped over daily to obtain better extraction. The ageing takes place in 80% new French barriques and 20% new American barriques. Bottling takes place after 28 months of aging without fining and filtration.
