About the wine
Luigi Einaudi was an economist, university teacher, journalist and democrat, as well as the second president of the “Repubblica Italiana”. He is the founder of the traditional Poderi Luigi Einaudi winery in Dogliani in Piedmont. After his death in 1961, the estate was somewhat neglected, but in the 80s his granddaughter Paola Einaudi took over the management and brought it back to its former glory. Today, her son, Matteo Sardagna Einaudi, continues the story and has turned it into one of the most prominent wineries in Piedmont, with the credo “eleganza e territorialità”, which is reflected in his wines.

Tasting note
Dense garnet red. Very present on the nose, with red fruits, raspberries, ripe pomegranate, spices and balsamic notes. The palate likes the impressive structure with high minerality, an intense, very clean tannin structure and a very long finish.
Culinary recommendation
With hearty dishes with red meat, with mushroom dishes, with hard cheese. Or enjoy it as a meditation wine.
Vinification
Fermentation in temperature-controlled steel and cement tanks at 30 - 32°C. A further 25 maceration until malolactic fermentation is complete. Ageing in oak barrels and in bottles.
