About the wine
New! The Maison Champy was founded in 1720 and is therefore the oldest winery in Burgundy. Located in the heart of the historic town of Beaune, Maison Champy is internationally known for the outstanding quality of its Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. In order to preserve the vineyards and exceptional terroirs, the winery is converting to organic farming.
Tasting note
Deep ruby red with purple hues. On the nose, intense aromas of blackcurrant, licorice and Christmas spices. Concentrated on the palate, with harmonious acidity and opulent body. Aroma of red fruits as well as spicy notes and well-integrated wood. Fine-grained tannins and a long finish. The wine matures for 14 months in barrique barrels, with the proportion of new wood being 25%. The production volume is 8000 bottles. Goes perfectly with braised beef and grilled vegetables.
