About the wine
The Davaz family's parental winery in Fläsch wasn't big enough to guarantee the two sons an income, and so Johannes Davaz moved to the Poggio al Sole estate near Tavernelle, acquired in 1990. Trained in Wädenswil, he and his wife rebuilt the run-down property and restored it to its former glory. The efforts have paid off. With its honest, straightforward and typical wines, Poggio al Sole is currently one of the absolute top companies in Chianti Classico.

Tasting note
Dark ruby red with violet reflections, dense bouquet of ripe cherries and blackberries, with notes of leather and subtle vanilla tones, strong structure and fullness in the mouth, with good acidity - a wonderful combination of elegance and power! A wine with great potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with festive meat dishes. Decanting is an advantage!
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aging in barriques for twelve months.
