About the wine
If you're looking for something special, don't miss out on this biting red wine 2015 — Costamiòle Barbera d'Asti DOCG superiore Nice. Fertile and picturesque landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Prunotto conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Flaschenpost team promises a culinary experience if you serve this Barbera with antipasti or strong, dark meat.
Tasting note
Intense ruby with purple reflections. Very clear and definite on the nose, with notes of sour cherries, blackberries, fruit drops and spicy components. Juicy on the palate, with finely polished tannins, aromas of ripe berries, some cedar wood, leather and tobacco. In the finale, with a wonderful balance and good complexity.
Culinary recommendation
A nice accompaniment to taglierini al ragù, but also with deer fillet or wild boar.
Vinification
The Barbera grapes from the single vineyard “Costamiòle” are harvested by hand, then selected, crushed and fermented on the mash in steel tanks. The ageing takes place in barriques for twelve months. For refinement, the wine is aged in the bottle for a further 18 months.
