About the wine
With sensitivity and instinct, the winemaker from the Italian winery Alois Lageder masters this red wine in the picturesque and fertile landscape in South Tyrol. Give yourself and your guests a treat for the senses with the delicious Krafuss Pinot nero Alto Adige DOC from 2014!
Tasting note
Medium ruby red. Aromatic nose with fruit and fine spiciness. Blackberries and cloves dominate. It looks delicate. Dry on the palate with perfectly integrated acidity. Shows a lot of elegance and class at the start. Quite grippy tannin for a Pinot Nero. Again, dark berries, spice, nice complexity and a long, structured finish.
Culinary recommendation
Wonderful with venison schnitzel with wild mushrooms and dumplings.
Vinification
The grapes come from the Krafuss vineyard of the same name at 500 m above sea level. The vineyard was replanted in 1991 with selected Burgundy clones, densely planted in wire raming. Mash fermentation takes place for 18 days in steel tanks followed by biological acid degradation. The young wine is then aged for twelve months in barriques (Alliers, Nevers, Vosges, 1/3 of which is new).
