About the wine
Behind the tiny Domaine de l'Edre are two wine freaks from Vingrau. Jacques Castany now works full-time as a personnel manager in a bus transport company in Perpignan. His father is a vine farmer and a member of the cooperative. Pascal Dieunidou is responsible for computer science at the region's Credit Agricole. They got to know each other in the tasting club, since Herve Bizeul from Clos des Fees installed himself in Vingrau, the two have never been able to get rid of the passion for wine. In 2000, Castany and Dieunidou isolated 3-4 hectares of the best sites in Vingrau and have been working according to the strictest ecological standards ever since. Minimal plant protection and extremely low yields of just 15 hl/ha form the basis for this highly concentrated, elegant real garage wine. Pressed on a small, old hand press, pressed with the grape's own yeasts, actually in a garage in the middle of Vingrau - miracles don't need high-tech. The ageing takes place in used barriques from the cult domain Clos des Fees.
