About the wine
This strong red wine 2018 — Pinot Noir Nom is a triumph down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! The winemaker from the South African winery Saurwein grows this wine in the countryside. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a dining experience when you offer this Pinot Noir with salmon or cheese.

Tasting note
Mixed red and dark berries, rose hips, cocoa, and the typical and unique orange peel character of the vineyard. Red and black cherry fruits, umami, roasted chestnuts, silky, medium-grained tannins, balanced acidity and the wine will become even more complex as it ages.
Culinary recommendation
Goes very well with crotin with baked goat cheese, French cuisine, North Indian mild curries, Asian-style dishes, fish, red meat stews, poultry and especially with duck.
Vinification
Nom, as an abbreviation for Nombulelo, means gratitude in the native Xhosa language and stands for the African goddess of agriculture Nomkhubulwane. At the very top, at 700 meters above sea level, lies the Elandskloof Valley with its clay slate soils and extreme conditions for viticulture. The Kaaimansgat location enjoys a first-class reputation in SA viticulture. Manual harvest, short cold maceration, 10 months of aging in a combination of new (25%) and used 228 liter pièces.
