Tasting note
Impenetrable red. Even the first drops in the glass release exuberant aromas: tempting wood tones are combined with scents of fresh mint, cassis, currant leaf and licorice. This is followed by roasted hazelnuts and coffee beans. Fresh and elegant on the palate. Distinct and grippy tannins reinforce the already formidable structure with considerable length, depth and weight. The oak notes and an infinite range of red and black fruits condense into a true pleasure experience.
Vinification
From exceptional talent Grant Burge. His first winery, founded young, belonged to the elite within 10 years. Countless awards testify to his success. Shadrach was named after the faithful biblical companion of Meshach. Namesake Meshach (Burge), on the other hand, was Grant's great-grandfather, and the man with whom the winemaking tradition began. The grapes for the wine come from 100-year-old vines. Thanks to fantastic quality, cellar work is reduced to a minimum. The grapes are pressed in a traditional and extremely gentle basket press and matured for two years in French and American oak barrels.
