Tinto Cosecha Ribera del Duero DO 2020 - Dominio de Atauta

About the wine

That was a big prank! A small, almost deserted valley at an altitude of 1000 m, old abandoned cellars and wine presses, countless, often overgrown plots with different soils and over 140 years of root vines, extreme, continental climate with temperature differences of up to 25 °C between day and night, slightly cooler than usual in the Ribera del Duero. Incomparable, unbelievable, a gem, you can only rub your eyes in disbelief, but Miguel Sánchez recognized it and so at the end of the 1990s, the first major investment flowed into the Atauta Valley in the east of the Ribera del Duero, where the 60 ha estate is now about 600 (!) Plots farmed biodynamically and produces sought-after and beguiling dark wines with an unprecedented elegance and freshness here! An epiphany

Tasting note
Tango - that is a wonderful, fresh, passionate intensity. Juicy, fresh dark berries, floral and vegetal freshness, this devotional warmth and pride, all with so much style. On the palate, so much stylish dedication again, intense dark ripe fruit, proud, tart fullness, so expressive in dance, dark, tart structure, herbs, including anise, and so rashingly long. This fresh, bitter and dark elegance is great.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Dominio de Atauta Ribera del Duero DO passt bestens zu rotem Fleisch, Lasagne und Pizza.
Vinification
Selective manual harvesting, very low yield. Fermentation partly in wooden barrels, partly in cement tanks, aging for 16 months in new (60%) and used (40%) small French oak barrels. Unfiltered Minimally sulphurized
