About the wine
The winery can look back on an eventful history. But it wasn't until Jens Reidel and Christine Dinse took over the estate in 2009, made Karsten Peter a winemaker and turned everything upside down on their feet that they once again picked up the glorious times of the 1960s to 1980s. Gut Hermannsberg only owns large growing sites and there is hardly a winery in Germany that has such an abundance and variety of top locations. Even the entry-level Riesling shows unequivocally that this potential is being fully exploited. This is no longer a secret and Gut Hermannsberg is almost overwhelmed with praise, points and awards.
Tasting note
Assertive diplomat. At first, appear noble and balanced, ripe apple, pear and blossoms, with an inviting warm gesture, honey and almond, some herbs. Very present on the palate, big body, dark sweet fruit and herbs give it emphasis, saying goodbye with a harmonious and friendly gesture. Serious Pinot Blanc from a great Pinot Blanc year!
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Weisser Burgunder trocken goes perfectly with hard cheese, fried poultry and smoked salmon.
Vinification
Very selective harvest by hand. 24 hours maceration time. Pre-clarification through natural sedimentation, ageing in stainless steel tanks, long storage on yeast, without fining.
