Tasting note
The Rieslings of the Uhlen are characterized by autumnal fruit aromas, a dense body and a characteristic mineral aftertaste. Pears and mirabelle, a touch of lemon zest, mint and sage on the nose. On the palate, a game between sweetness and freshness paired with a beautiful mineral note typical of the Moselle. A masterpiece from a Riesling.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The white wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 10°-12°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 3-4 years after harvest. Flaschenpost team recommend Flaschenpost team with shrimps, duck and Asian food.
Vinification
The vinification took place as follows: Hand picking of the grapes. Long fermentation of the must on the mash to obtain the full flavor concentration. The grapes are fermented at a low temperature and gently pressed. The deliberately oxidative, gentle and long ageing on the fine yeast makes these wines reductive in the bottle, so they absolutely need oxygen after opening the bottle.
