About the wine

Tasting note
The Allesverloren Shiraz shows a strong ruby red with violet reflections in the glass and exudes opulent aromas of blackberry, cassis and blueberries with a delicate smoky touch. Juicy and full-bodied with balanced fine-grained tannins, spicy wood spice, persistent and balanced.
Culinary recommendation
Goes great with a barbecue chicken.
Vinification
The grapes for this wine come from south-facing vineyards in Malmesbury. Harvesting began towards the end of February, when the grapes had a distinct varietal taste and the tannins were ripe. Each block was vinified separately. The grapes were fermented with the skin in open tanks at 25° C for five to seven days and left on the lees for four months to impart color and flavor intensity and to give the wine sufficient structure for good aging. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged in a combination of a new, but mainly second and third occupancy, in French oak barrels and some new American oak barrels.
