Alt Scheidt Saar Riesling feinherb 2023 - Weingut Peter Lauer

About the wine

Do you already know the outstanding white wine Alt Scheidt Saar Riesling feinherb from the 2016 vintage? If not, it's time! With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the German Weingut Peter Lauer masters this white wine in the picturesque landscape of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Riesling is ideal for serving Indian cuisine or Asian food.

Tasting note
This finely tart (semi-dry) Riesling is a real pleasure to drink. Exotic fruit aromas of pineapple, ripe berries and stone fruits paired with a sharp and juicy acidity and a slight residual sweetness will delight even the most spoiled palates.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with spicy dishes, sushi, Far Eastern cuisine or just as a snack.
Vinification
In the vineyard, particular emphasis is placed on integrated and environmentally friendly management as well as on late and very selective harvesting. After the obligatory whole grape pressing with partial maceration, the must is traditionally spontaneously fermented in large wooden barrels after a preliminary clarification. This is followed by 4 months of storage on the lees so that the wines round off naturally. In previous years, Lauers' drinking wine regularly came from Ayler Scheidterberg for daily enjoyment. Unfortunately, this vineyard name has disappeared. However, the Lauers are maintaining the tradition by calling their “lightest” Riesling Alt Scheidt today.
