About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Castello Banfi has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and refinement are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and flourishing Tuscan countryside. This outstanding Sangiovese 2013 — Belnero Toscana IGT is, in the truest sense of the word, a hit right down to the last drop! Tasting note
Dark ruby red. Complex on the nose with notes of cherries, caramel, tobacco and fine toasted notes. Fresh and elegant palate with a presence of acidity, aromas of red berries, black tea and leather. A modern wine with a fairly long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with spicy pasta, pizza and Parmigiana di melanzane.
Vinification
The grapes are fermented in steel tanks and aged in French barriques for around 14 months. The wine then refines in the bottle for several months.
