Tasting note
Aligoté is still considered an “exotic” among Burgundian grape varieties, even though the wine is currently flying high in this country. In France, Bourgogne Aligoté has been an appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) since 1937, i.e. popular aperitif wine and often used to prepare the kir. Arnaud Sirugue, Jean-Louis' son, pays the same great attention to the care and then development of his aligoté as to all his wines. Unlike the big reds, aligoté is fermented in steel tanks and aged. The result is a racy, finely aromatic white that impresses with its fine spiciness and charming melting.
