Canterabuey DOCa 2022 - Viñedos de Alfaro

It is not the case that the almighty Cosejo Regulador created the new “Viñedo Singular” quality level specifically for Real Agrado, but the highly ambitious bodega was certainly a driving force behind the project and was the first to bring their Canterabüy vineyard wine to this league of super Riojas. The following criteria must be met in order to be considered a Viñedo singular: - The wine must come from a single vineyard and bear its name. - The vines must be cultivated in traditional bush farming, which does not allow mechanical harvesting. They must also be at least 35 years old and managed sustainably. - The yield per hectare is limited to 5000 kg of grapes and 3500 bottles. Canterabuey grows on the 3.5 hectare vineyard of the same name, which was planted with Garnacha in 1975. Only a portion, corresponding to around 7500 bottles, is selected, the rest of the harvest is harvested in Rioja Crianza. The wine is an aromatic grenade, a complex of exotic, beguiling scents with which you can talk endlessly and which always show you new facets. And they never look overloaded! This is also the impression on the palate, opulence plays with race, the finish is almost endless.
