About the wine

For Spanish standards, the Priorat is a rather small wine region with just under 1500 ha. It has the advantage of a Mediterranean-continental climate, which is very suitable for viticulture. In addition, there are the very barren slate soils, which in Catalonia are called Licorella. The vines, up to 140 years old, grow on steep slopes and usually yield a very small yield. Christopher Cannan is considered one of the pioneers of Priory. As early as the 90s, he made a name for himself with the Clos Figueras winery.
