About the wine
On the one hand, the Varvaglione 1921 winery by owner Cosimo Varvaglione deliberately focuses on tradition, for example with careful manual work during harvesting, and on the other hand, the cellar is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to press the wines as gently as possible. The wines come from Manduria in Puglia, where the superior quality DOC for the Primitivo grape is located. The year 1921 is the founding year of the winery and at the same time the namesake of the Riserva. It comes from the oldest vines that are over 60 years old. This is a top-class Primitivo thanks to its deep structure and characterful substance.
